The newly introduced Sedan Toyota Yaris is a subcompact beautiful car that has given tough competition to its rivals in the market. The Sedan has a unique design that gives it a look like a luxury car with bright color variants and distinct power features.

Engine, mileage & variants

Toyota Yaris comes in 2 engine formats in the country. The 1.5 litre petrol engine with VVT-i and 1.3 litre petrol engine consists 4 cylinders and 4 valves. The 1.5 litre engine delivers a maximum output of 80 kW @ 6000 rpm along with a maximum torque of 140 Nm @ 4200 rpm while the 1.3 litre engine delivers a maximum output of 63 kW @ 6000 rpm along with a maximum torque of 121 Nm @ 4400 rpm. The 1.5 litre petrol engine gives an overall mileage of 13.3 kmpl and accelerates from a stand still to 100 kmph in 11.5 seconds. Both the engines deliver a smooth performance for the Sedan and also a descent mileage for a Toyota Sedan.

Exteriors

The Toyota Yaris has a classy innovative luxury car look from the outside with a distinctive Chrome grille and stylish swept back headlamps. The air dam is given a broader look in black color with the Logo sticked to it. The Sedan stands on 4300mm x 1690mm x 1460mm (L x W x H) with a wheelbase of 2550mm. The wheels come in two sizes i.e. a 15 inch Rim size with 185/60 R15 tire size and 14 inch Rim with 175/65 R14 tire size with options of Alloy wheels and Steel wheels. Not much detailing has been given to the rear and sides of the car except few curvy detailing and body color gate handles. But overall the car has a beautified stance with not much distinct detailing.

Interiors

Toyota Yaris is very spacious from the inside in terms of the leg room and broader seats. The Sedan has a flat cabin floor with plenty of rear seat legroom in its kind. The car has Fabricated seats. The rear seats are foldable with a cup holder in centre armrest on the 60:40 split rear seats for the convenience of the passengers. The front seats of the Yaris are also very comforting with sufficient legroom. The centre console has a wide storage box with a lid where one can store CDs and DVDs and other needful stuff for the car along with push type cup holders for the front passenger. The most different look given to the centre console is the placement of the MID display on its top end. The speedometer is also inside this centre metre only which helps the driver keep its eyes solely on the road. Although the car has single tone interiors but the centre console is given a fine silver touch around the AC controls and the Audio system in an inverted triangular shape breaking the monotonous look of the single tone and giving a classy touch. The car has a large boot space of 475 litres with foldable rear seats which also makes the car all the more spacious and wide.

Safety, Braking and Miscellaneous

Toyota has given descent safety features to the Sedan. It has 4 Airbags, 2 on the front and 2 curtain shield airbags for front and rear seats assuring enough safety to the driver and the passengers. The car has ventilated disc brakes on the front and drum brakes on the rear and ABS with EBD that provides stable braking and safety to the car. Other than this it has High mounted stop lamps, Anti theft alarm and BA (Brake Assist). Few more safety assists could have been given to the Sedan for making it extra- ordinarily safe.

Verdict

Toyota Yaris is a classy looking Sedan with simple looking features on the outside and spacious features on the inside. Overall the car has descent safety features also but certainly some extra ordinary features could have been added to the safety list for convincing the buyer in a better way.
